The President Calls Loved Ones of Shot National Guard Soldiers to White House

Background on the Heartbreaking Incident

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a shooting on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in grave state.

White House Call

The commander-in-chief stated he’s talked about a White House visit for the loved ones of both individuals of the state National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” Trump informed journalists. “And likewise with Andrew, recover or not.”

Community Support

Mourners assembled over the past few days at the high school in West Virginia to honor Beckstrom.

Both they had been working with the military unit as part of Trump’s government program to support policing efforts in DC.

Honoring Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that instructors wished for. She carried herself with calm resilience, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that inspired people around her,” the principal, the principal of Beckstrom’s previous school, stated to the media. “She was kind, caring and always ready to assist people.”

Memorial details for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Steps and Government Adjustments

Officials have accused a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy prompted the Trump administration to halt refugee claims and temporarily stop providing entry permits to possessors of Afghan passports.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of the city, began his service in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, according to the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s leader Patrick Morrisey mentioned on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi told a news show that she planned to speak to his relatives.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from her high school in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a military police officer with excellence, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she certainly had bravery,” Morrisey informed the crowd at the memorial. “Though her life was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
