The former Liverpool manager says coming back to lead Liverpool is conceivable.

The German coach, who left Anfield in 2024, remarked that a future comeback remains something that could happen. The 58-year-old, after a transformative nine-year spell which brought continental glory and ending the club's long wait in 30 years, currently occupies positions in a global football capacity within the Red Bull organization and as an advisor with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

They secured England's top flight in the previous campaign, yet numerous supporters who revere Klopp would be thrilled by the possibility that he might come back one day. Speaking candidly, he told Steven Bartlett: “I declared I will never coach any other side within the country. So that means if then it’s Liverpool...absolutely. It's plausible.”

“Being 58, which suggests I might decide down the line, who knows. Do I have to make the decision today? In that case, I'd stay away. But thank God, no such pressure exists. I'll simply watch what lies ahead.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Questioned regarding what circumstances must arise to draw him back to management, he confessed he feels no immediate pull to such a return. “It's unclear to me, My present work fulfills me,” he said. “I don’t miss coaching; I don’t miss standing during downpours for lengthy sessions; I'm glad to skip press conferences four times, three times a week or constant media duties weekly.

“I don’t miss the dressing room in that context, yet sharing a meal with the players having a nice chat, is pleasant. With many victories so there was often great spirits at the club. I still have Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh ringing in my ears to illustrate.”

Praise for His Successor

He commended of the current boss, crediting him for the adjustments which secured the championship in the previous season. They've been defeated a string of losses across various tournaments post heavy investment, yet he dismissed the suggestion it could be the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker such as Wirtz, critics will regret if you use the wrong words. A remarkable prospect. Ekitike, incredible player. They have a strong balanced team. Fans shouldn't fret over the club, things will improve.”

Heartfelt Words for the Late Forward

Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of Jota, a player he signed in 2020, and its impact on Liverpool. Jota was killed in a road accident together with his sibling this past summer.

“Who can fill the void of such an individual? It’s not about his on-field talent, it's his character. I struggle to conceive the dressing room without him in it. I find it difficult to discuss about it. A devastating blow for all the boys too. Nobody at Liverpool might employ it as an excuse though it's a fact. Entering the changing area which he filled completely. Coping with it emotionally is difficult. Unbearable.”
