Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game victorious run was ended by Sunderland prior to the global break, however will the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, against AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's new record, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I won't push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday soccer side," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's return from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be quite close, however. Burnley are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' sole on the road win this season came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four games.

My son told me to get Bees striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.

Fulham have have plenty of quality in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.

However I am not choose that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
