Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched strikes across the region in response for a "massive" and continuing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone near the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any impact is not yet known and the US has yet to issue a statement.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have intercepted missiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a several projectiles," it added.

Officials reported debris landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
