The British player made it to the third stage in three of the four major tournaments this year.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in her remaining competitions of the year as a result of a health issue she has been fighting in recent days.

At 22 years old had planned to participate in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to regain her health ahead of launching plans for the 2026 season.

Her upcoming training are set to feature trainer Francisco Roig, as the pair will keep partnering in 2026.

Raducanu required blood pressure checks while playing the initial match against Ann Li in Wuhan and retired when trailing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

Another medical visit was necessary a doctor's assessment at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

Her movement was with clear difficulty in the deciding set in the match with Zhu owing to back discomfort that has been a concern on several occasions in 2025.

These outcomes followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the top 30 globally after more than three years since her previous ranking, concluded with three straight losses.

She held three match points before losing to Jessica Pegula in the third round in last month's Beijing event.

She secured 28 victories during 2025 and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami event in March.

The British number one reached the quarter-finals of a premier WTA event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed on the way prior to a loss in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

Her coach was Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role for the US Open.

The first plan with Rafael Nadal's former coach was through the season's conclusion but the collaboration persists, with planned training sessions for the end of the year.

The athlete revealed that the trial session with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She nearly succeeded to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati during August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
