Critical Role Campaign 4 Reveals the Fighters Table

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring celestial beings, demons, and malevolent powers increasing in influence within the city.

Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season follow below.

The Warrior Group Unveiled

The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of heroes who will separate from the primary party to undertake their own adventure, separate from the remaining groups.

The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).

Why Split the Party?

Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.

Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.

What Defines the Soldiers Table

As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.

Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the actions of the third episode show why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.

Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the hidden lair, striking Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.

The traitor then paid off his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.

Character Drivers

Moreover, each member has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
  • The adventurer knows the region and advises that it is a dangerous place.
  • Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • However, their status as key figures in the powerful family could assist the team enter places they usually can’t.
  • Additionally, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.

Fugitives

In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making remaining behind too risky:

  • Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
  • The warrior and The cleric turned against the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
  • The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.

This leaves them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.

Future Episodes

According to the recent installment’s post-show segment, we discover that the combat party will not appear next week, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Explorers and Schemers groups.

Audiences can expect finding out which players will be assigned to which table in the season’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
