Actor Rejects Anti-Vaxxer Stance After Lending His Voice To Disputed Pandemic Documentary
The acclaimed actor has given his vocal talents to a recent film that casts doubt on the efficacy of vaccines and praises ex- cabinet secretary RFK Jr.
The Documentary's Disputed Origins
Named "Plague of Corruption," the film is adapted from a well-known publication published by a controversial scientist, who rose to infamy during the global outbreak for claims that Covid was a result of a faulty batch of the seasonal immunization.
The publication's writing partner, the executive producer, has previously authored books with far-right figure Alex Jones. The producer took to social media hailing Neeson's participation in the film.
An Unequivocal Denial
The team of the actor have provided a statement pushing back against claims that he holds anti-vaccine sentiments.
"We all understand that corruption may occur within the drug industry, but that cannot be confused with rejection of vaccines," the comment explains. "Neeson has never been, and remains not, anti-vaccination. His long work with the UN children's agency highlights his enduring support for public-health initiatives."
It added that the performer had no hand in the documentary's messaging and that concerns about its assertions are best addressed to the creators.
Central Claims Featured in the Feature
In the film, the narration spoken by Neeson makes several controversial claims:
- It claims that pro-immunization voices have called for "blind obedience" to health authorities.
- It argues that "research has become dangerously politicized."
- Robert F Kennedy Jr is interviewed saying, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they simply are not properly vetted."
- It takes aim at stay-at-home orders, arguing they caused severe distress that resulted in thousands of lives.
- Concerning pandemic shots, it mentions a perspective that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "dangerous experiments."
Previous Context and Ongoing Debates
The documentary also references a past television report about AIDS medication trials on children, which was later the topic of a correction by the corporation for violations of guidelines.
Recently, RFK Jr instructed the national health agency to revise its longstanding position that there is no link between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This supposed link is also referenced in the film, even with a fresh analysis from the WHO reiterating no such link has been found.
An Earlier Position of Advocacy
Contrasting the film's narrative, Neeson has formerly expressed strong support for vaccines in his role as a charity ambassador.
Two years ago, he described vaccines as "an extraordinary human success story," adding that "The discourse about vaccines in lately has forgotten how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in our history."
"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's narration proclaiming, "This isn't the finish of our story. This is the dawn of a new chapter."
